Biography
Laura began her career as a sales person in a popular Homewares Store in Dublin. After a few years there, she began to explore the world of Interior Design. This was the start of her fascination with wall art.
She began creating her own art pieces as a hobby, and attended workshops in a variety of crafting disciplines. Once Laura took a class in felting, she was captivated by Textile art. In order to take this further, she decided to explore the field in college, and graduated with distinction from Ballyfermot College of Further Education in May 2014. Since then, Laura has sold a number of pieces through exhibition and commission.
Laura's first solo exhibition opened on the 25th of September 2014, in Kildare Heritage Centre. The theme of the Exhibition was "Four Seasons - a journey through colour and shadow". The seasons were expressed in individual pieces through colour and texture. The exhibition closed with a wonderful piece which expressed all four seasons.
This year, Laura is doing a number of exhibitions exploring landscapes and abstract art in Silk fibre.
Laura now provides brief talks with college students in addition to her artistic work.
